Our Governing Body
The Internal Governing Body of De-Young Group of Schools plays a vital strategic role in guiding the direction of our institution. Working collectively, members are responsible for:
- Defining the aims and objectives of the school
- Establishing policies and setting targets to achieve those aims
- Monitoring and evaluating the school’s progress
Our Governing Body is made up exclusively of staff representatives, bringing together a wide range of expertise. This diversity ensures that governors provide both challenge and support to the Principal and Headmaster, helping to strengthen leadership and decision-making.
The Chair of the Governing Body is the Proprietor of the school, who can be contacted directly for matters relating to governance.
Sub-Committees
To ensure effective oversight, the Governing Body operates through two sub-committees:
- Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee – responsible for scrutinising the school’s budget, expenditure, human resources, and facilities.
- Curriculum Committee – responsible for reviewing curriculum arrangements and monitoring levels of attainment across all year groups.
Together, these committees ensure that the school remains accountable, forward-thinking, and committed to excellence in both academic and operational areas.
